I'm in the process of creating Freak (FRee Ad Killer) which will automatically download and update the URLFilter.ini, but for the time being you can place it in the Profile Folder for the Portable version OR

Fanboy:
save the urlfilter.ini file into,
(XP/W2K) C:\Documents and Settings\"your username"\Application Data\Opera\Opera\
(Vista/7) C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera\
(OSX) /Users/"your username"/Library/Preferences/Opera Preferences/
(Linux/BSD) /home/"your username"/.opera/

exactly what guiness said [damn you're always one step ahead :) ]
also, there is a nice extension, opera adblock, which does the same thing.

have to admit, this makes me sad

edit: in the "how to extract" section, in opera's description page, isn't no.6 "Launch opera.exe" obsolete? opera launches automatically after setup/upgrade. maybe we can simplify it more

Just played a bit with user css in Opera:

See the circle links to full article? It's positioned right before the article's title. It was driving me mad to point this link at the very right end of the rows. Now it's easy. Rows also has a different hover color make the navigation easier.

Unfortunately, the Imagus extension hasn't been submitted to addons.opera.com, so there is no auto-update. Therefore I totally missed the release of Imagus 0.8 on 30 May. :( In that version, Deathamns implemented the hover zoom feature:

Note that my settings are non-default.

In the screenshot, you can also see Wikipedia+ Language Bubble in action. (Again, non-default settings.)

A year after V11.00 and it appears V11.60 is coming before the anticipated V12.00. Though after reading the blog post it looks as though some of the features introduced in V12.00 Alpha will be in V11.60.

Opera V11.60 RC1 >> http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/20 ... 2/tunny-rc is now available.

Note: I just saw they fixed the Master Password dialogue box not having focus - DSK-340296 Master Password dialog does not receive cursor focus when clicking the Password button. I've been waiting a very long time for this.

If you need another reason for why Opera surpasses other web browsers on the market, then take this into consideration >> http://my.opera.com/ruario/blog/2011/10 ... d-to-opera to put it simply they care about their users privacy.

It appears a maintenance release of Opera V11.61 (version 11.62) will be coming soon according to the Opera Desktop blog. Therefore V12.00 will probably be released in spring or summer, if we look at the past history of Opera releases.

In the next couple of weeks I will be posting some more 'tips and tweaks' that can be done to Opera with improving user interaction between the browser and Internet.

A second maintenance release has surfaced today for the upcoming Opera V11.62.

It seems that you hear nothing from Opera for a whole week and then out of the blue 2 different snapshots appear on the same day, with one snapshot the day before. :)

Browser.js >> http://www.opera.com/docs/browserjs/ contains workarounds for problems with websites that just don't appreciate Opera like we do, for example the small font issue that has been in the compose box of Gmail for 3 months or so!

The file is automatically checked for an update every week, though if you can't wait a whole week then select Menu >> Help >> Check for updates and regardless of if there is an Opera update this file will be checked as well.

The reason I'm posting this is the issue with Gmail has been fixed, thankfully! Though the update was on Monday (13th Feb) so if you can't wait a whole week, follow the instructions above.
