I'm a BIG fan of MemPad by the way. I have found it to be incredibly robust and useful over the years.

Same here. Fantastic speed and reliability.
Development has not stalled over the years, many new ini-options have been added. Among many other improvements, you can now set your text margins left and right, for a more centered text flow:

I also use it as an outliner, with very wide indent settings for the tree levels.

For those not familiar with the program, it allows you to define your own file types, then assign a separate ini-file to each of those file groups. This makes it a very versatile tool for all kinds of notes and writing and conceptualizing. Provided you invest a little time to set it all up to your liking.
