There a few steps between something being portable but being portable alone isn't enough. Ultimately, the way to get something listed is for someone to submit it and it must be voted on (more in the FAQ on this).
I haven't done anything with this because I haven't had a need.

I don't understand how SpeedyFox is listed as portable when it creates C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\CrystalIdea Software\SpeedyFox\preferences.xml. Copying preferences.xml to program folder doesn't work. Am I missing anything?

Where is it listed? Not on this Website, at least I could not find it in the DB.

@I am Baas
I meant that it was posted in Portable Freeware Submission sub-forum. Have you tested SpeedyFox? Is there a way to make it portable?

@joby_toss
Thanks but I was asking for the original SpeedyFox. I tested the PortableApps package but it starts significantly slower.

The PAF package automatically scans for and configures SpeedyFox Portable to work with Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition (stable, ESR and Test); Mozilla Thunderbird, Portable Edition (stable, ESR and Test); Google Chrome Portable (Stable, Beta and Dev); and Iron Portable, etc in addition to SpeedyFox's built-in scans only for the local apps. Plus it needs to move the settings to/from SpeedyFox's hard-coded location. On a slower drive this will take a couple seconds.

@JohnTHaller
OK, get the fastest drive and compare start-up times.
I forgot to mention that SpeedyFox is ad-ware.
