MBase 2 - Movie cataloging software

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

MBase 2 - Movie cataloging software

It comes in a zip and writes the database/settings to the local folder, but I have not tested it for full portability/stealth. It's fantastic so I'm posting it anyway.

There are lots of these apps out there, but this is the best I've tried. Search a movie or TV series and it pulls tons of info from IMDB. It's all cross-referenced, so clicking on genre tags or actor names brings you to similar items in your collection. Wikipedi is integrated into the sidebar for more detailed info.

Great presentation and design. The interface is a bit 'odd' in terms of Windows software standards, but it's still quite nice to use.

Entries can be linked directly to files on your hard drive.

It even offers a Cover Flow style view for some added eye candy :)

Digging out old thread, because again I found accidentally this software, and they've been even updated this recently (now version 7.5 Beta). It's really nice. Thought it has some drawbacks which they still doesn't want or can't fix or develop. For example you cannot have movies marked with more than one country (country list itself seems also just someones subjective list which countries could be in list :P). Also it could have some additional info fields for my personal needs (movie title in my local language; where iv'e seen movie (specific tv channel, cinema, etc...)). But generally it's really nice app.
