more and more you click on an image thumbnail and instead of going to a new page or tab, the full-size image pops up as an overlay in the current window, with the surrounding part of the screen dimmed.
Greased Lightbox makes all image links and thumbnails work like this. best of all, you can use the arrow keys to change images. i just tried it here and found that this 'scrolling' feature even works with a list of image links! you can also zoom in/out of images. and the image context menu still works so you can save pictures from there if you want. then just hit a key and you get the screen back. it's very cool
