MarkdownPad (markdown editor)

I could have sworn MarkdownPad (http://markdownpad.com/) had at least a post mentioning it here a TPFC -- but I was completely unable to find it, so here's mine (posting to "Discussion" for reasons alluded below).
MarkdownPad has a standard freeware version along with a payware Pro one -- comparison table is at http://markdownpad.com/compare.html.

MarkdownPad makes available a "portable" download package with the following caveat:
