HTTPS for TPFC

I am planning to move TPFC over to HTTPS using:

https://letsencrypt.org/

once I get a good block of free time to work with.

In the past, HTTPS was out of the question due to the cost of the SSL cert. Now that major sponsors like Mozilla and Google are pushing for this to happen and making the cost $0, I think we should go with it.

Any objections?

I have a very small idea about what this really means, but I'm all hyped up about anything new for TPFC! :D

8) Encryption sound great nowadays. Is there a performance hit?

We have letsencrypt on one site and its working fine, though the entire process is managed by our host provider (in fact, we have requested this feature and they built a cPanel addon).

There is some performance hit but it's not really noticable.

Great news. I'm strongly in favor of it for several reasons but mostly because I'm generally connecting to the site via open Wifi. Although I've taken some precautions, it's still possible to sniff my password.

That would be great.
