Windows has a screenshot tool

#1 Post by SYSTEM »

Just heard about it. %windir%\System32\SnippingTool.exe.

I wonder why Microsoft hides such useful features...

Not confirmed.

Code: Select all

---------------------------
C:\WINDOWS\System32\SnippingTool.exe
---------------------------
Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\System32\SnippingTool.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
XP x64.

Snipping Tool is available only in the Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows 7.

In a Run box you only need to type SnippingTool.exe, as it enumerates through the directories stored in the %PATH% environment variable. If it doesn't work you don't have it.

Just noticed that there is a Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snipping_Tool

According to Wikipedia, Snipping Tool has been included in Windows since Windows Vista.
