Texmaker (LaTeX editor)

#1 Post by sproaticus »

[Mod note: as the current is the official forum topic for Texmaker, subject was ammended; original was "Looking for a portable LaTeX renderer"]

Does anyone know if there is any portable LaTeX typesetting software? I thought that Portable OpenOffice might do this, but it doesn't seem to have the capability.

Old topic update: Texmaker v4.4.1 has been released (changelog at http://www.xm1math.net/texmaker/log.html)

According to Softpedia, Texmaker is portable -- see http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-S ... aker.shtml...

Texmaker includes unicode support, spell checking, auto-completion, code folding and a built-in pdf viewer with synctex support and continuous view mode. Texmaker is easy to use and to configure. Texmaker is released under the GPL license .

 TexPortable (not tested, but seems to work). Launcher created with AHK (see here).

Includes MiKTeX, TexMaker and SumatraPDF. Starting TexPortable.exe brings up TexMaker and SumatraPDF side-by-side, with MiKTeX running in the tray. The really neat thing about this is that it automatically previews the PDF in Sumatra when you do a build.

The program files are around ~700Mb uncompressed.

Download self-extracting archive @ https://symera.de/texportable/texportable-download (latest release 2016-03-28 | 1.4)
