Bulk Crap Uninstaller

#1 Post by I am Baas »

Bulk Crap Uninstaller is program uninstaller. It excels at removing large amounts of applications with minimal user input. It can clean up leftovers, detect orphaned applications, run uninstallers according to premade lists, and much more!

Unable to test the portable version under my current setup. :(

Bulk Crap Uninstaller at version 3.3. It seems to be portable and stealth- settings saved in BCUninstaller.settings file inside program folder. Compared to other uninstallers (Geek Uninstaller, Revo Uninstaller, Wise Program Uninstaller) this one is a bit heavier but offers a lot of information and options and GUI is very good. Although Bulk Crap Uninstaller requires .NET I like this uninstaller.

Bulk Crap Uninstaller Change Log

@I am Baas
I am curious- why were you unable to test it? Because you don't have .NET installed?

My guess is BCU is designed to deeply interact with system settings, something that testing in a sandbox obviously precludes. :idea:

Absolutely correct.

However, it can be tested in a VM environment but I was too lazy at the time :roll:

As of version 3.7.1 (3.7.1.22408) Bulk Crap Uninstaller no longer leaves BCUninstaller.exe.log in AppData (at least on my Windows 8 x64 system). After exiting the program CleanLogs.bat automatically cleans it. Please confirm.

Version 3.7.1:
Only some files in CryptnetUrlCache (I believe because it checks certificates of installed programs) and same in the registry.
I removed XP from supported systems - too many problems IMO

Someone is trying to use the source code of Bulk Crap Uninstaller and sell it as Best Uninstaller, compare the screen-shots:

Bulk Crap Uninstaller

Best Uninstaller

Obviously the rogue (Martin Pekar) has made some cosmetic changes to the GUI (the tool bar is moved from top to bottom, etc) and changed the name of the program.

I notified the developer of of Bulk Crap Uninstaller, Marcin Szeniak, about this scam.
