MiTeC Network Scanner

#55 Post by billon »

MiTeC Network Scanner
Network detection tool

https://mitec.cz/netscan.html
It is a free multi-threaded ICMP, Port, IP, NetBIOS, ActiveDirectory and SNMP scanner with many advanced features. It is intended for both system administrators and general users who are interested in computer security. The program performs ping sweep, scans for opened TCP and UDP ports, resource shares and services.
For devices with SNMP capability available interfaces are detected and basic properties displayed.
In addition you have to edit results, save/load results to/from CSV and print network device list and any data in any section can be exported to CSV.
It can also resolve host names and auto-detect your local IP range.

Scan features:
  • ActiveDirectory
  • Network neighbourhood
  • Ping (ICMP)
  • IP Address
  • MAC Address (even across routers)
  • MAC Vendor
  • Device name
  • Device domain/workgroup
  • Logged user
  • Operating system
  • BIOS, Model and CPU
  • System time and Up time
  • Device description
  • Type flags (SQL server, Domain controller etc.)
  • Remote device date and time
  • TCP and UDP port scanning
  • SNMP services.
  • Installed services on device
  • Shared resources
  • Sessions
  • Open Files
  • Running processes
  • Terminal sessions
  • Event Log
  • Installed software
  • SAM accounts
  • WMI and SNMP Queries
  • Powerful WhoIs client
Target platforms
Windows 2000 - 10

Licence
Free to use for both private and commercial users.

Can be an alternative to now shareware SoftPerfect Network Scanner.

Although:
19.12.2016 MiTeC Task Manager DeLuxe 2.1.3 has been released. Bug fixes, UI enhancements, optional persistent layout
it needs testings of course, but in my current network configuration I have nothing to scan.

For me Firefox blocks the download as "unwanted software" - virustotal gives it a clean bill of health at the moment though

I wonder (as many others here or in database entries comments) why all the downloads from mitec.cz are flagged by google as unwanted software? Can we find the exact reason?

@billon

Go to View:

Check Interface View:

Check Interface:

Then you can uncheck Interface View:

So on my Windows 8 x64 system Network Meter works but it cannot be removed from task-bar (minimized/closed to tray only) and it is not portable- Network Meter- it creates NetMet.ini in AppData (C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\MiTeC\NetMet\NetMet.ini).

Browser website blocking (AKA MiTeC site issue)

#60 Post by webfork »

This comes up every few months and we're definitely going to see it again so I wanted to give it a separate post.

Problem: a site we're linking to is blocked on Firefox or Chrome with a message like this:
  • Image
Explanation: Both browsers are - as of this writing - using a malware blocklist maintained by Google.

Solution
  • Is it just me? check the status of an individual site to make sure it's not unique to your browser.

Is it really malware? I recommend either getting the file from a separate site like softpedia or checking the program via virustotal.com

How do I get my site off that list? See this and scroll down to "fixing the problem".

Some research in answering this question came care from this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1053219.
