@Baas: You're finding all the cool stuff lately.

The program has a lot of bonuses over similar hierarchical tools like it. Its fairly intuitive, the icons are easily understood, and there's even a variable indent capability. Something that might help other people new to the program:
  • 1. The top left window is the main category system. So for example Human Body would be a main category with - Skeleton and Circulator System as subcategories.
    2. The top right window is category entries. So, continuing the example under Skeleton you'd have Femur, Ulna, Skull, etc.
    3. The middle window is for the content of the entries. It uses HTML and supports quite a few different formatting options including tables.
    3. The bottom window is for "Find" entries.
You have to add a note (the document with a plus sign) to start entering information.

Wishlist:

* Drag and drop categories management
* Ability to minimize the Find window
* Ability to easily import RTF, HTML, or other types of filess to help collect information
* HTML export (right now it only allows PDF)
* Some kind of auto-backup, versioning system

Re: MyTetra 1.44.31

#5 Post by smaragdus »

MyTetra is still in development, latest (compiled) version is 1.44.31 (released on 2018-09-15), I could not find any change log.

English page shows Last actual version: 1.43.27 at 06.07.2018 while Russian page shows Last actual version: 1.44.31 (14.09.2018), I suppose that the English page has not been updated.

  • Memory usage - about 21 MB (under Windows 8 x64.
  • Tool bar buttons do not have tool tips- for description look at the status bar in stead.
  • I have not tested MyTetra extensively so far and I cannot draw a conclusion about the program.

MyTetra 1.44.31 doesn't leave QT/Trolltech junk behind. So portable mode = stealth :D

Seems capable and desires a database entry - will do this after some testing.

We could assume the last stable to be just the previous development build, as is the case with many other projects -- then that would make MyTetra stable equivalent to dev v1.44.29... just thinking out loud. :)
