FDM 'portable' Anyone got it working with JPE? O_o

#1 Post by Firewrath »

so, yeah, i love Free Download Manager, always used it, it always worked, its awesome, imo, ofcourse, :P

had an old version portable, but it was when JPE took forever to load and yeah,
its gone now, cant get it back, etc,

Anyways,
ive JPEd WackGet lately and have been using it, which is great,
buuut, then i seen the FDM 'portable' and like some of the options there,
and its not 'stealth' ...and im picky, :P

But, when i run it through JPE, and run it, it sits at 7.5 RAM used and does nothing with the registery redirect on,

so has anyone messed with this and got it working or should i just stick with WG untill FMD does 'stealth' by itself? :P

Firewrath, I downloaded the app to give it a shot and see if I could help out.

I was able to get it running by using these steps:

1= I installed the app as normal then selected File>Make Portable. I saved the directory to use later.

2= I then followed redllar's 12-step program, using the directory from step 1.

3= The first time I launched the app I received an error so I added fdm.exe to the module include list and excluded everything else; after that I was able to launch without any errors.

I am not real familiar with the programs features but everything seems to be working as normal.

Thank BAHeath but it still wont work for me, even doing it that way,

the logging says that JPE hooks in just fine and all, and the FDM.exe launches, just the program never actually comes up, O_o

Heres the log, redllar, if you want to have a look at it:

Code: Select all

-------- JauntePE runtime settings for:

C:\Free Download Manager\fdm.exe

Windows version info: 5.1.2600.2 (Service Pack 2) - English

         File system ini: C:\Free Download Manager\fdm_jauntePE.ini
         File system data: C:\Free Download Manager\

Process  was created  at 02:24:44.078.
Hook dll was attached at 02:24:44.156.
Hook dll was finished at 02:24:44.359.
00078 ms for hook dll attach.
00203 ms for hook dll attach to finish.
and the only thing i changed in the .ini was:

Code: Select all

[Registry]
Use=1
Data=.\Registry\fdm_registry.reg

[Filesystem]
Use=0

[Redirection]
Logging=1

[ModuleInclude]
1=fdm.exe
2=fdmwi.exe
3=Updater.exe
i noticed though, that the folders list that JPE normally adds to the .ini file isnt there though, but thats prolly cause file redirection is off,
it runs just fine with file redirection on and no registry redirection,

and i know your busy, but i figure youd still want to see any 'bug' that gets found, unless its just me screwing something up, :P
