Is there an easy way to retrieve music info from databases like the Echo Nest and save the output to an csv file?
For example in
https://spotifycharts.com/regional
you are able to download a csv file (top right)
The idea is to complete artist and album data by storing it in an easy to read format. Another advantage
of csv is that it can be loaded in Ghepi like in
http://pfch.nyc/land_of_the_free_music_archive/
Examples of interesting Data:
1. Top Artists by genre (Echo Nest; Last.fm)
http://static.echonest.com/demo/hottt/h ... ?genre=all
Right now the demo doesn't seem to be working.
2. Similar Artists (Last.fm; Allmusic; Echo Nest; stored in artist folder)
3. Top artists songs (Last.fm; stored in artist folder)
4. Biography for artists (English Wikipedia; Allmusic; Last.fm english and spanish; stored in artist folder)
5. Discography (Discogs; Musicbrainz; stored in artist folder)
6. Top tracks by genre
7. Top albums by genre

Re: Is there a way to retrieve Music Data from Databases 2 C
wasn't sure of whether to start a new thread or post in this one since is kind of related.
I need some help here... Can someone point me to the issues where charts by decade were published in the Billboard magazine?
Specifically for the following charts that I found:
http://www.billboard.com/biz/charts/decade-end
Here are listed:
1. artists of the decades:
http://www.billboard.com/biz/charts/dec ... the-decade
2. Hot 100 artists of the decade:
http://www.billboard.com/biz/charts/dec ... 00-artists
3. top 200 artists of the decade
http://www.billboard.com/biz/charts/dec ... 00-artists
4. Hot 100 Songs of the decade
http://www.billboard.com/biz/charts/dec ... t100-songs
which may be listed here
http://www.annoyatorium.com/tm.aspx?m=348854
How 1, 2 and 3 compare? (beyond the difference of 100/200 items)
What about earlier decades? 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s?
Since Billboard charts for all time have been calculated
http://www.billboard.com/articles/colum ... page=0%2C1
it makes sense that there should be a publication by earlier decade (not just 2000).
pd: if you know another chart source please share it, I'm trying to categorizate/make my music library browsable by several number of critherias like artists by decades; albums by decades; songs by decades; compilations or VA albums by decade, sorted by order of most representative artists; albums; songs or compilations. Other schemes are music by region or genres by decades like in http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... =1&t=22317
