Re: Why Microsoft Windows XP ?
[Moderator note: This thread was formerly a question posed by a new commer asking who used XP and -- if so -- why?]
---
I'm using it less these days, the new computer came with Win 7 x64 -- but won't update the old one, XP does a fine job with it.

Because I have it stripped down and fine tuned just the way I like it.
Its responsive and fast despite my low end hardware specs.

Re: Why Microsoft Windows XP ?
My XP is also an nLite stripped down version (from ~600 MB to 159MB) that outspeeds a regular Win7 crap-bloated average machine, even on my 1 GB RAM, 40 GB HD, 1.5 GHz CPU oldie. That's probably why.Napiophelios wrote:Because I have it stripped down and fine tuned just the way I like it.

I don't know how this happened, but I'm not the initiator of this here thread -- I only responded to the OP by user misan (was there a silent ban?). Just saying...

Re: Why Microsoft Windows XP ?
misan has asked for his account to be removed, which I have done. He didn't provide a reason, and I didn't probe.
I have also removed his posts, which on hindsight I probably shouldn't have without his explicit request.
In the future, I will make sure to keep this in mind when someone asks for his account to be removed (which doesn't happen very often; most people just stop logging in).
