Thunderbird Portable leaving traces

#1 Post by Kea »

A friend of mine unpacked portable Thunderbird on her USB stick and used it. Thunderbird has never been installed on her computer - only unpacked to the memory stick.

Next time, when she started her computer without the USB memory connected and before even logging in, the welcome screen in Windows told her how many unread messages she had.

Apparently Thunderbird writes something somewhere on the HD and this is of course very annoying, when using a computer in school, on the library...

Hi Kea!

Strangely, Thunderbird does write files to a user's Application Data directory, leaving quite a bit of info behind, but I've never noticed the behavior you've mentioned.

Have been using Thunderbird Portable for a couple of years now on a USB HDD. Never had this problem.
