Stealth:Yes

About as basic as a basic image editor should be,
but I dont think I will be abandoning Photofiltre for it tho.

BatchBlitz, the batch photo editor offered at the same site, is much more interesting. It includes a wide range of features, with more flexibility than XnView (which doesn't offer a nice GUI or previews) or PhotoScape, which are the closest competitors in the database. I did find a bug right away (which I reported): when editing an "add text" filter, if you type your text before choosing the font, you can continue to change any settings, but you'll never see the text in the preview and the program will crash as soon as you hit either "OK" or "Cancel".

It's just as portable as the photo editor - Universal Extractor works. What's more, it includes the photo editor! I wasn't going to add it to the database until the bug was fixed, but on second thought, I went ahead and added it: http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1852

The UI is decent enough, but you might want to play around a bit or check out the help file, since some of the features are a bit hard to find or figure out. For instance, it was quite some time before I realized that I could preview the effects on a given image by going to the "Source" tab and then double-clicking on that image in the list, rather than just selecting the "Preview" tab.

If anyone thinks that Wolfghost should get the "suggested by" credit for pointing me to the developer, feel free to change it. Just don't get us confused or think that we're somehow related ;)

Tested: SunlitGreen Photo Editor & SunlitGreen BatchBlitz Portable

Voted for both!

I don't! Because you took the time to add the ScreenShot, Icon and Details plus nothing was mentioned about it before, therefore you should retain the title of finding the application. :) The same could be said for all NirSoft applications, who would we put as the suggested user?

The latest version of SunlitGreen Photo Editor is 1.4.0.4589 (1.4.0 Build 4589).

The latest version of SunlitGreen BatchBlitz is 3.3.0.4627 (3.3.0 Build 4627)

The installers provided by the developer are online ones so their extraction is useless. These installers try to install ad-ware so don't use them. However there are native portable versions of all the programs by this developer so I will provide direct download links to these portable versions:

FYI, the 3rd link -- "SunlitGreen Photo Manager" -- triggers a "Reported Unwanted Software Page!" in Firefox...

Updated the entry...

I'm using the download link from Softpedia as I was getting a malware notice from Firefox. I don't see a clear reason for that as VirusTotal is giving a 0/57 safe rating.

Edit: just fixed the PhotoEditor entry as well. Thanks smaragdus.

I don't see any visible improvement whatsoever since I first discovered the programs by this developer and I have a hypothesis that from time to time he/she/they just change a byte or two and the version number so that the new versions of their products would appear in the download sites anew. I have the same hypothesis for MuseTips products (some of them are also in the database- Free MP3 Cutter and Editor and Text Filter). For me downloading new versions of programs by SunlitGreen and by MuseTips is a waste of time.

Re: MuseTips & SunlitGreen

It seems that MuseTips and SunlitGreen are owned by one and the same person:

Whois Record for MuseTips.com
Whois Record for SunlitGreen.com

and thence comes the similarity of version numbering and the total lack of new features in the frequently released new versions.
