Visual Family Tree

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

Few notes:
  • Can't find any reviews, links, or download sites that host this. Proceed at your own risk.
  • Site indicates it requires Java on Vista and beyond, but is otherwise portable.
  • That is one very cluttered interface: http://www.lavistalab.com/vft/frame_00.html
jcd925ec: Thanks for your post but for future reference, you might want to just post about it before creating an entry and, if you do create an entry, try to follow the existing format.

Are you the developer of Visual Family Tree Maker?

I like that GUI! Yes, really! Is this strange?

Note: haven't tested this app.

This program does not require Java. Also, nothing is written to the registry.
Vista Family Tree Maker is a different program program that requires Java but is not available yet.

Tested Visual Family Tree 2.42: Portable

The confusion re. Java comes from the instructions on your download page at http://www.lavistalab.com/vft/download.html

Confirmed: Visual Family Tree does not require Java runtime

Also, in the database entry under "Stealth" you put "Yes. Clean program removal. Delete startup icons and "Visual Family Tree" folder for complete program removal".

I did not find any startup icon, can you clarify that?

One of the files in the zip file is a Windows shortcut named Visual Family Tree.
This connects to the program inside the Visual Family Tree folder.
Double click this (or double click the program) to start the program execution.

When I try to open the Visual Family Tree web-site I got a warning- Reported Attack Page!:

VirusTotal analysis
Sucuri SiteCheck analysis

Does anyone else get the same warning?

I also get the warning (FF b47).
How does one find the reason for this warning (also get it from another site I used to visit and would like to know why)?
