You can use their PortableApps.com Format version which does not have OpenCandy and is packaged directly by the publisher:
http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/siw_portable

Add-ons like OpenCandy, browser search toolbars, etc are not permitted in PortableApps.com Format packages.

Download the PortableApps.com package and extract. All you need is the SIWPortable.exe and siw_init.xml (put this in "Data" folder) to run SIW portably.

I received an email today, reproduced in full below. As such, I have edited the entry and removed the PA link from the description.
Dear Mr. Lee,

Short version: Please remove mention of a PortableApps.com version of SIW from this page:

http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=159

SIW "has been retired from the PortableApps.com collection. It will no longer appear in
the app store or updater. This free version for personal use is still available for manual
download but will not work on Windows 8, 8.1 or 10." (quoted from PortableApps.com,
http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/siw_portable).

The details:

While looking for a good system-information tool, I chanced on your page concerning SIW
(referenced above). Since you note that there is a PortableApps version, I installed that
in my PortableApps suite and ran it. When I asked SIW for information on my system, it
proceeded to run a scan, and after some minutes it informed me that I was running the Home
Edition in a corporate environment (I ran it at work). I then looked at Mr. Topala's web
site and at his end-user license agreement. Finding that document entirely lacking (it
doesn't even mention a Home Edition), I cancelled the SIW system scan, at which point the
"scanning" alert changed to a "cancelling" alert. And there the program sat for something
like an hour. I let it run since I had other things to do.

When I turned my attention to SIW again, I found that I had to terminate the process (not
the application, the actual process) in the Windows Task Manager. The tool was frozen, it
would not even minimize its window.

I then went to PortableApps.com's web site and looked at the SIW description page (yes, I
should have done that before downloading/installing SIW). I found that SIW has been
removed from the PortableApps.com collection, though the personal edition is still
available for download for those who really want it. The reason given, as noted above, is
that it won't run on Windows versions past 7 (I flatly refuse to use the word "greater" in
any sense with regard to Windows). I should note that I had problems with SIW and my work
PC is running Windows 7 Enterprise.

Repeating my request above, please remove mention that there is a PortableApps version of
SIW. There is no longer such a version.

Thank you.
Dale.

My suggestion: Remove the SIW entry. Old software and no portable Freeware anymore.

Just because it's old doesn't mean it should be removed. Better to put a warning stating incompatibility with newer versions of Windows.

Or else request two of its three upvoters (TP109, ashghost, joby_toss) reverse their votes -- the entry will endure, but in a private state. Thus, no link rot but a clear signal the program is not up to TPFC standards...
