Free Alarm Clock
Re: Free Alarm Clock
I retested v2.3.1.0 (downloaded zip file MD5: 6d965cb9a240813905010c2e02dcf326 ) and it writes that empty key. I tested both in Sandboxie and running directly on my win7x64 OS.
Re: Free Alarm Clock
Yes. Tested on XPSP3.guinness wrote:Are you sure you tested the Portable version half way down the page?
Re: Free Alarm Clock
OK, well thats weird. I am using System Explorer to take a snapshot on a VB Machine & if I remember (joby_toss & I) we had this problem with another application, in that Sandboxie was capturing a RegistryKey which System Explorer wasn't and vice versa! That being said I think my testing procedure is still reliable as both Sandboxie and System Explorer have their flaws.
Re: Free Alarm Clock
Yes, that's true!
That's (another reason) why it is so nice to be a part of this wonderful community!

Re: Free Alarm Clock
I engage in this necromancy to inform that, having tried all alarm clocks offered by TPFC, I consider this as the best. Used as alarm clock, it has the right facilities, intuitive use and I haven't discovered any bugs. It is worth putting up with the one empty registry entry that it writes.
But strangely, it is not included among those offered by TPFC. Didn't the developer agree with its inclusion?
By the way, it is now in version 3.1. Has anybody checked whether it still writes that entry?

Re: Free Alarm Clock
Tested v3.1 portable; still creates that empty registry key.
If it's not in the database, it's because no one added it. But you can add it yourself if you want... I'd vote for it.

Re: Free Alarm Clock
Adding to what Joby said, the program's inclusion in the database isn't connected to the developer. Anyway, a bit more on adding entries is in the FAQ list http://www.portablefreeware.com/faq.phpwebfork wrote:tomcat wrote:I engage in this necromancy to inform that, having tried all alarm clocks offered by TPFC, I consider this as the best. I think I forgot about this alarm clock because I was so captivated by the lovely portable tag icons above. I should split those from this thread so that I can find them again in the future. Edit: done!

@I am Baas
Does it create this key at first launch only or at every launch?

It would still write to the registry.
