network tool

#1 Post by rogerthedodger »

Hi, is there a portable freeware tool that allows my wireless router to detect other networks nearby and tell me what channel they are using? I dont want to try to break in, just for trying a lesser used channel? I tried wifi info view and wireless net view, but they dont work, obviously there made for wireless laptops. thanks

The second item in the list when I search "wireless" is a prog called netsetman, and I certainly cant see how that can help?

Update: Thanks i found the option in netsetman to tell me. thanks

Old thread update: WifiInfoView http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2332 is much better suited to this task.
