In my Windows XP SP3, BatteryCat displays itself more like the image shown here and nothing like the database entry screenshot. Any hints?

It's GTK's fault (I think). You can play with the fonts and styles, but I don't know much about that.
In the help file it says you can play with the settings by creating a ".gtkrc-2.0" file with the necessary info.
