The reason is that the version of innounp in official Universal Extractor is too old. Use Lupo73's unofficial version or update innounp yourself as explained in http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2086 (the Problems? part).

ISO to USB

#7 Post by DG »

USB boots/reads/writes so much faster than a CD/DVD right? SO why not use one for that windows PE boot disc utility I use all the time? Hmmm Most of the "ISO to Live USB" apps on here are for linux distros, not to mention the one that I *did* find for windows lead to a dead link :(

So after a bit of searching, I came across this program. Not sure how stealthy it is but it did the trick for me. Hope it helps anyone else out there who's looking to convert their non-linux live CD to run off USB.

Oops, sorry! Didn't realize that you had already posted this app. How might I have missed it in my search and how can I avoid this sort of duplicate post in the future?

It's no biggie. Our search engine is fairly basic and sometimes misses search terms. I would type the following in Google:
So to check for this program in our database or in forums, you'd type:

Code: Select all

Not to imply that the Google way doesn't work, but I find TPFC's main page search pretty good -- if used properly, it will return both database and forum results, its major shortcoming being a lack of logical and string operators...

For a quick'n'dirty hack, you could use the following, replacing the '{word}' part with the most specific term from the program's name:
  • Code: Select all

    http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?q=[@]+{word}
For a practical demonstration, click :arrow: here...
