Multi Monitor Mouse

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

Multi Monitor Mouse

#1 Post by Onesimus Prime »

Hey all,
There are a few apps that I've run across recently which I don't see on TPFC, just wanted to at least get up an initial posting about them - I'm really sorry that I don't have time to create the entry for each! I figured at least this way the word would be out, even if not neatly...

Multi Monitor Mouse (M3) - lets you "warp" your mouse cursor from one monitor to another, either to the identical location on another monitor, or a "relative" location, etc.
http://monet.cs.columbia.edu/projects/m3/ - homepage
http://monet.cs.columbia.edu/projects/m3/license.htm - license and download page
Stealth: yes, as of a few months ago (and I don't think it's been updated since then)
It stores settings in a text (.txt extension) file, surprisingly!
I found this one when looking for an alternative to Mousinity, which has never worked for me on my Win7 x64 dual-monitor system. One reviewer of M3 on CNET had an identical complaint (same OS), but M3 has worked fine for me.
Requirements: Microsoft Windows XP/2000 (also tested on Win7 x64); Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 or higher

*edit* - as has been pointed out, the below apps were mentioned/submitted elsewhere in the forums. I missed them in my search... Thread subject changed to reflect only the new submission.

AllMyNotes Organizer - "a notes organizer made with love! ...It's an extraordinary tool for everything - diary, project-management, planner, contact-management, storing access codes, and much more!"
As a Mempad user, I'd say this is kinda like "Mempad on steroids" or somesuch. I think "Freemium" is the best license description
http://allmynotes.vladonai.com/ - homepage
http://www.vladonai.com/allmynotes-orga ... e-editions - comparison between the free and paid versions
http://www.vladonai.com/download.php?na ... rtable.zip - download link
Stealth: No. Writes minimal info to "FirstLaunchWizard..." in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vladonai\Prefs (duplicated in the .ini file, but the author unfortunately doesn't seem interested in addressing this wasted registry write: "Try to just ignore it, everything will work as it should, I, as a developer, knowing zero impact of this thing on app functionality, simply would prefer to concentrate on other tasks rather then polishing things and reaching perfection where it's not really needed." That aside, he really does seem to generally be very responsive and helpful.)

MusicBee - music player, I think it supports tagging too?
"Portable version" download available, Untested
http://www.getmusicbee.com/
http://www.getmusicbee.com/download.html
http://musicbee.niblseed.com/MusicBeePortable_2_0.zip

Taghycardia - specialized music tagging software
"Portable" .zip download, Untested
http://taghycardia.narod.ru/english.html - homepage; this isn't your average tagger app, see the "What is this for" section (partly quoted below)
http://taghycardia.narod.ru/taghycardia.zip
"Note that the program is not so much meant for organizing mp3s, as for correcting faulty metadata in existing music folders to make them easily accessible on ipods etc., hence renaming/configuring options are mininal and not very flexible.
"As the scanning is read-only, taghycardia can also be used as a purely diagnostic tool that tells what is wrong with your mp3 tags, and based on that info you can later reorganize and fix your music library using specialized tag and rename tools."
"Please keep in mind that this is not some 'magic tagger that would automatically instill perfect order into your MP3 tags. The program is meant primarily to help upload MP3 albums to a tag-sorting portable player (especially iPod) in one peace, 100% accessible, and in the right order. To that end, it takes certain measures, which may be not to everyone's preference. SO PLEASE LOOK INTO THE SETTINGS PRIOR TO USING THE APP...."

I hope one or more of these are helpful to someone! :-) Now back to the hectic-ness of "RL"...

*edited again to add M3 requirements*

@Onesimus Prime:
Thanks for your post. Some of the applications that you suggest have been already mentioned or submitted:
MusicBee: mentioned @ http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... ?f=4&t=287. It is portable but requires .NET 4 Client Profile.
AllMyNotes: submitted @ http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... 889#p55889 and mentioned @ http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... 259#p50259
taghycardia: submitted @ http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... 451#p40451

D'oh!
I didn't expand the "Forum topics matching your query" section, so I didn't see those. (I did search first...) I'm not used to the new site layout, I guess. Sorry, all.
