Free secure FTP program supporting both SFTP and FTPS (SSL). Looked simple and easy so thought I'd give it a try.

Here's my testing process on WinXP SP3

1. Install
2. When asked to generate private keys, say yes
3. Say no when asked to run as a service
4. Copy to another folder and Uninstall
5. Delete unins000.dat, unins000.exe
6. Launch freeftpd.exe

Problem: once uninstalled, the program won't run.

Old thread update: the devepers actually had a discussion about this several years ago, actually referencing our site.

There's a workaround (login required) but looks abandoned. Devs couldn't understand who would want a portable server, so nothing happened.
