The new release 16.0.912.15 includes support for the Do Not Track HTTP header

Edited entry to reflect this addition.

The only problem is that, the way you have written it, it seems that it is a Chromium feature, when in fact it is an addition to Chromium Portable. I suggest reverting the first paragraph and changing the second one to:
Quote:
Chromium Portable is a custom-built version of the dev channel of the Chromium web browser, packaged in the PortableApps.com Format. It is optimized for portable use, supports jPortable and includes some modifications from the vanilla Chromium, like support for the Do Not Track opt-out specification.

Done. :)

I've been using a split from chromium in the form of portable comodo dragon.

It works as well as chromium, but I like having comodo's dns settings for just the browser (So I can use window's default dns with other browsers)

edit: if you are still deciding who to put down for suggestion credits, i dont want any :S I just like this site because I can find portable apps and share new ones with people who might like them. I rather just credit the devs behind the programs lol.

OK, I took the credit solely.

To make sure Incognito is always used, edit your Preferences file and add the following:

Code:
   "incognito": {
      "mode_availability": 2
   }

This forces Chromium to use Incognito mode on start up. No more unnecessary shortcut files!

For a list of other options you can set, view this file:
http://src.chromium.org/svn/trunk/src/c ... f_names.cc

This should work for Iron and Google Chrome as well, but I haven't tested.

Update:

When using the technique above, you cannot access the following items under the wrench menu:
- New window (because we have forced everything to use Incognito mode)
- Settings
- Tools > Extensions

But you can continue to access them manually if you know the URLs:
chrome://chrome/settings
chrome://chrome/extensions

Update 2

I no longer recommend what I mentioned above. There are too many restrictions, which is good if you plan on using Chromium in a kiosk-type mode, but for someone who wants to tweak stuff while running in incognito mode, it's better to use the --incognito command-line switch.

Updated to 19.0.1061.1. Now uses DuckDuckGo as default search engine for English-speaking locales.

Removed Do Not Track support.
Fixed translations.

I wonder why Do Not Track support was removed?

Release notes for v21.0.1180.11:
Quote:
This release sees the end of Do Not Track support, as it was only partially working and became a maintenance burden.

By the way, someone could edit the description and ditch everything after "jPortable".

Chromium (not the Portable listing!) now officially supports Do Not Track in its nightly builds:

Since updating to the latest version of Chromium Portable, every time I launch Chromium, it now scans my floppy disk drive.

Can anyone duplicate this? Anyone know why?
