Camera support has been included in the latest snapshot and it appears the runtime error is fixed >> http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/20 ... ia-support

In less than 24 hours there have been 2 snapshots with significant changes. I get the feeling Wahoo will be moving from Alpha to Beta.

Indeed.They're pretty active lately.

Opera just announced that today is the beginning of the end for two of their current Add-on platforms. Starting with the upcoming Opera 12 release, Opera Unite and Opera Widgets will be turned off by default for new users. The two Add-on platforms will be completely removed in a later release expected before the end of this year. (Link)

I think that's a good decision.

I also think so but I feel sorry for users who used them.

I will remember Unite as being very innovative at the time, imagine no other browser (I can think of) has had this technology in built into the browser.

Top tip: There is a password strength meter when you set up an Opera Unite account, just found it today.

There is a new snapshot where some features have been removed on Mac OS X (start bar, navigation bar, main bar, advanced appearance settings, BitTorrent support and IRC support).

http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2012/05/10/mac-sandboxing

I'm afraid these features will be removed on other platforms as well (it doesn't make sense to only remove them on one platform). :( Probably I'll need to consider switching to SeaMonkey Portable...

I hope they remove those on win versions, too. I don't use'em anyway. I'm all for minimalistic and working stuff, now... :)

Ghacks put out something on Opera I thought might appeal to some folks on this, one of the longest and most ongoing threads on the site:

10 Things Opera does that Other Browser Don't

It was indeed a positive article for Opera.

I truly hope this is just a rumour >> http://www.ghacks.net/2012/05/25/rumor- ... wser-wars/ because I for one would consider moving away from Opera if this turned out to be true. I would happily pay money to Opera just because I love the company and what it stands for.

I seriously doubt it (I can see how money could be a cheap bait, though)! Opera is not a Facebook friendly browser... :)
But if it turns out to be true by some miracle, I'll also ditch Opera. Why? Because I can! As simply as that!

I can't see why facebook would be interested to enter the browser market in the first place. They are already gaining billions. How would they benefit by providing their own browser [and thus having to compete against google, mozilla, opera etc]?
In case this turns out to be true though, count me *out* too

In other news, opera seems in a rush to release v12. v12 was supposed to have hw acceleration. Yet the current betas are very buggy (opera freezes on youtube , has huge memory consumption and a lot more...) . On top of that, opera announced recently that v12 will ship having HW turned off by default...So, once again, i'm forced to wonder : WHY SUCH A RUSH???
We don't want a bazillion half-baked features...Just give us a stable, bug-free, version. That's all we need. That's how you attract people.
