And what about a simple context menu to list all special abbreviations?
It could be the fastest solution for the user and an additional "Custom" group could be used to add/show custom abbreviations..

@the_watcher: currently you can process files with direct drag&drop, monitoring folders at a time interval, from SendTo menu, with command line.. I could consider to implement your request in future, but I'd like to understand its possible usages..

Well, I thought i could use dropit to categorize my downloads for me. But in the case of a torrent, for example, i want it to do it when i'm not seeding it anymore. I'd like to have dropit running, but have it execute the rules i've set up when i want it to, and not have it asking me every 30 or 60 minutes if it should move a file or not.
Except if i can achieve this in an other way [i'm open for suggestions...]

Descriptions would be shown in tooltip on mouseover of menu items? I guess that would be useable but I still feel a dialog gives you more options.

I finally implemented it and I think it's a very good solution.. Custom abbreviations are not supported yet, but this new interface allowed me to easily add several more variables! The context menu has a fixed position and I like also that it is less invasive than an additional child window as before.. you can test it from here: http://www.lupopensuite.com/files/dropi ... e_Test.zip

Yes, the menu seems to work nicely!

I have another bug to report in addition to the folder processing one I reported earlier.

Sending a command line sorting option that causes a "Select Action" dialog to be created while DropIt is already running causes DropIt to stop responding. Is there a debug mode or anything that I can run to help you solve these issues?

Hi Guys! First, I really like Dropit - it has worked well for me until now...

I am using the CSV import feature to creat a profile and its accociations. This CSV file has grown to just over 6,600 line items. Last time I used it I didn't have a problem (the CSV file had maybe 5000 lines). Now though I wait and see the profile is created but when I check for the asscoiations there aren't any. If I split the CSV file in 2 (keeping the header line in both halfs), I can import each half without a problem and can then see all the associations - so the CSV file is not corrupted as far as I can tell.

My question is, have I hit a limit for the number of associations that Dropit can handle or can anybody suggest what the problem may be?

Thanks!

This second bug is already known and unfortunately it seems not possible to be fixed.. I'll try to report it on AutoIt forum one of these days..

As I said to you it's not an AutoIt bug, plus it's fixable though will require a huge code re-write.

Yes, I remember you said me that a fix means a lot of work.. so do you think there is no reason to report it on AutoIt forum at all? In this case we can only report it as a known issue, until a future software recoding..
Do you like the new solution for special abbreviations?

It's not for me to say, but I know what the response would be. Plus, haven't looked at DropIt in a while, will check it out soon.

Any luck on that folder processing bug yet. Try doing a copy or move drop on a folder containing multiple subfolders to see what I mean.

Just committed a couple of fixes, thought I don't think it fixes any of the bugs reported.

@dragonmage: not yet, I'm going to check it..

@guinness: thanks for your code fixes! I have only a problem: now DropIt icon is minimized with single click (and so cannot be moved) and with context menu click (and so settings are not available) :?

I didn't get that problem, but perhaps because it's using the WM_COMMAND. OK I will look tomorrow as I forgot I had to tweak it.

Edit: I don't have a previous version of that function, do you?

I tested it again and verified that clicking internal context menu it randomly or opens related window (correct operation) or minimize the interface (wrong operation)..

What is the previous function version do you want? I think it is not changed since the previous stable release.. but I can send you a newer development version if you want..
