A few tiny (but useful) apps @ http://bcheck.net/apps/

Quote:
These are all MS Windows apps, they have zero dependencies and are as small as I could get 'em. Source is supplied for most.

HoeKey
HoeKey is a teeny (12k) program to assign hotkeys to do most anything. Win-N to run notepad, Win-G to google search on current highlighted word, etc etc. It's configurable with a simple .ini file.

Purrint (113k)
Make your PrintScreen button work the way it ought. Save to file, print to printer, or copy to dumb ol' clipboard.

Capster (5k)
Have a program run at the startup of windows, but only if your caps-lock key is down at the time.

Reso (9k)
Make a shortcut to run an app at your favorite resolution. Once the app exits, it switches back to your default resolution. New features:

Pass additional arguments to app being run
Specify refresh rate in addition to resolution and colors

Bmap (208k)
Yet another damn image viewer. 200k, and it works the way I wanted it too.

wherzit
4k app to show hidden windows

DevMgr (8k)
little app to create shortcuts to properties of devices normally found in device manager

Purrint (mentioned above) can remove settings from the registry. (To remove the registry entries. (/reset))

(Purrint does lose all settings this way.)

Some applications are accepted with registry entries, but what is the criteria?

I will contact the author if possible and request portable settings.

I hope he will understand as he has stated ...

Capster would have been fantastic back when I had a few programs on my machine that took forever to start up, and my machine was slow to start as well. You hit the power button, hit the caps lock, and go get something to drink before you start work.

However, I don't really shut down my machine more than once a week anymore. Still, its something Photoshop users might enjoy.

Could HoeKey be considered a(n able) NirCMD alternative?

EDIT: previous entries at this forum, viewtopic.php?f=20&t=7355 & viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1593
Use as a simple portable launcher posted @ http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=50138#p50138
