downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6 -oops
Greets,
I just downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6
It installed fine. And when I doubleClick on easyhtml.exe
apparently (taskManager), it starts up
it doesn't show up anywhere except for taskmgr.
Anyone, have this same prob?
So I uninstalled it.
Thanks...vmars

Re: downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6 -oops
vmars316, I just tried on Windows XP SP3 and it worked as intended.
Re: downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6 -oops
Hmm...
I tried downloading the *.zip version, installed it. And then changed its shortcut to run in compatibility mode ("win xp sp3").
Got the same results.
It is running, but not visible. Only visible to TaskMgr.

Perhaps you could let us know the system you're using?

Tested on Windows 7 x64 and it worked, the GUI displayed. So it appears to be a problem with your system. Did you download the ZIP version? Are you using an AntiVirus program?

Yes, I tried both zip/exe versions.guinness wrote:Tested on Windows 7 x64 and it worked, the GUI displayed. So it appears to be a problem with your system. Did you download the ZIP version? Are you using an AntiVirus program?
I use ms-securityEssentials.
Thanks...vm
Re: downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6 -oops
I have that running too, so we can rule out the operating system and MS essentials isn't the cause to your problem. Have you tried loading it in safe mode or using an entirely different application?
I would also suggest to close non-MS processes running because unfortunately I'm unable to help you from here.

@vmars316
Easyhtml requires comctl32.dll to run. I am not sure if Win 7 comes with a preinstalled version of this library. Dl PeStudio (in the db, portable) and drop EasyHtml.exe onto its interface to check if you have all the required libraries to run it.

If he doesn't have that DLL then quite a few of his applications will be broken too.

Re: downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6 -oops
EasyHtml runs just fine on my Win 7 64-bit machine. Did you these suggestions?
Re: downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6 -oops
Vernon,
Please ensure no traces of EasyHTML are found in the uninstall programs section and do search on your system for the executable too.
Try this, download this program and run (I created just for this purpose, source code NOT included) and then start the EasyHTML executable, then just sit and wait, it will try to solve the issue, though I can't guarantee it will.

guinness:
I am not sure what you mean by this:
But I did a search with "agentRansack" (C:\) for "uninstall" and for "easyHtml".
And ran "AddRemove", but could find no "uninstall" related to easyHtml.
I do have the EasyHtml.zip version of EasyHtml installed.
I downloaded and ran "EasyHTML_FIX.exe".
It gave the following message: EasyHTML has a problem on your machine.
Thanks...Vernon

Re: downloaded/installed EasyHtml V2.4.6 -oops
That means the GUI window isn't being created at all, despite the process existing (as you've said.)
OK, as you know this isn't a support forum for EasyHTML and we've (I am Baas & I) have provided solutions but we can only do so much, because frankly I've never used this software and have no intention in doing so. Therefore my advice is to do one of the following:
1. Contact the author.
2. Re-install your operating system.
3. Use a different application. I would choose this, because the said application was updated many moons ago, 7 years in fact.
If none of these appeal to you, then my question is why do you have to use this particular application?
