For example with Trout what I would have done is selected Add files and then used the code for LibreOffice but changing the part TITLE:Open to TITLE:Select audio files. So the code would then be >>

Code: Select all

#include <GuiComboBoxEx.au3>

_Main()

Func _Main()
	Local $aArray, $aSplit, $hComboBox = ControlGetHandle("[TITLE:Select audio files; CLASS:#32770]", "", "[CLASS:ComboBox; INSTANCE:2]"), _
			$sFilePath = @ScriptDir & "\Config.txt", $sReturn = "", $sUnique = ""

	$aArray = StringSplit(_GUICtrlComboBoxEx_GetList($hComboBox), "|")
	For $i = 1 To $aArray[0]
		$aSplit = StringSplit($aArray[$i], "(")
		If @error Then
			ContinueLoop
		EndIf
		$aArray[$i] = StringReplace($aSplit[$aSplit[0]], "*.", "")
		$aArray[$i] = StringReplace($aArray[$i], ")", "")
		$aSplit = StringSplit($aArray[$i], ";")
		For $j = 1 To $aSplit[0]
			If $aSplit[$j] = "*" Then
				ContinueLoop
			EndIf
			$aSplit[$j] = StringStripWS($aSplit[$j], 3)
			If StringInStr($sUnique, $aSplit[$j] & ";", 1) = 0 Then
				$sUnique &= $aSplit[$j] & ";"
				$sReturn &= $aSplit[$j] & "=Trout.exe" & @CRLF
			EndIf
		Next
	Next
	_SetFile($sReturn, $sFilePath, 1)
EndFunc   ;==>_Main

Func _SetFile($sString, $sFile, $iOverwrite = 0) ; By guinness.
	Local $hFileOpen
	$hFileOpen = FileOpen($sFile, $iOverwrite + 1)
	FileWrite($hFileOpen, $sString)
	FileClose($hFileOpen)
	If @error Then
		Return SetError(1, 0, $sString)
	EndIf
	Return $sString
EndFunc   ;==>_SetFile
See how easy AutoIt can be ;)

Sorry about the delay but it took me a while to work out the best approach of finding the common filetypes between programs, sometimes I'm not the brightest light-bulb!

The test I did was finding what was the popular extension between media players and below is a list that shows if an extension was in 3 players or more OR if in 2 or more. As you can see VLC can play the majority, though it's still lacking some formats. Thanks to lautrepay for their contribution of SMPlayer.exe, XMPlay.exe, Trout.exe & Nemp.exe.

Result for MediaPlayer Extensions:

Code: Select all

If in 3 or more applications:
flac=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
m4a=VLC.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
mod=VLC.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
mp1=VLC.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
mp2=VLC.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
mp3=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
mp4=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
oga=VLC.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
ogg=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
wav=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
wma=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
xm=VLC.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe

If in 2 or more applications:
aac=VLC.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
ac3=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; Trout.exe
ape=SMPlayer.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
asf=VLC.exe ; SMPlayer.exe ; Trout.exe

mo3=XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe
mod=VLC.exe ; XMPlay.exe ; Trout.exe ; Nemp.exe

Re: CAFE custom configs

#75 Post by guinness »

So I've compiled together all the file-types and information in this thread and can finally say that I have all-round configuration file for CAFE, CAFEMod & eXpresso.

The final count is 413 unique extensions that can work with all major applications that are Portable and on the PortableApps site. I'll be uploading in the next couple of days.

Thanks to lautrepay who helped join in with the fun. :mrgreen:
