A nice Portable statistical software: Past

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

A nice Portable statistical software: Past

#1 Post by pierluigi.polese »

PAST is a nice free, easy-to-use data analysis package aimed at paleontology but it includes common statistical, plotting and modelling functions. It is one file portable executable.
Web site:

Download the single EXE file to a folder of your choice and launch the application by double-clicking on past.exe

Hi, Pierluigi Polese,

the application seems to be portable. It does not write settings anywhere.

It´s a quite complex and interesting application!

It does write something to the user profile folder:
http://folk.uio.no/ohammer/past/install.html

When you exit PAST, a file called 'pastsetup'will be automatically placed in your personal folder (for example 'My Documents' in Windows 95/98), containing the last used file directories.
But that doesn't affect its portability, so I will be adding it to the database in a moment.
