GPL v2 license. Despite the URL, this looks like a Google Code site.

I got

Code: Select all

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicroSIP\(Default)
Plus program won't start [Error executing program! (5)]

Dependency Walker says msjava.dll is missing... but installing java didn't solved it (XP SP2). Doesn't looks like a java app though.

All program settings stored in INI file.
Where you found this msjava.dll java in dependencies?

It work in Win XP and Win 7 for me, no errors.

On XP SP3 I could launch it and there were no registry modifications. I got the msjava.dll on SP2 with Dependency Walker.

As support for Windows XP SP2 ended last year, as long as it works on XP SP3 without Java and no one else encounters that error on XP SP3 or later, I think we can ignore that bug.

So I tried to update the description a little bit. This may seem like nitpicking but I'm really interested in using this program in addition to updating the info.

1. I changed the p2p bit to "person to person" as p2p usually means peer-to-peer, which is serverless. This program seems to require a server. Am I wrong about that?

2. Does it require an account with a (non-free) SIP Provider?

3. Does anyone know if the program uses SSL with the server or with the recipient? The latter obviously would be more secure.

Edit: I changed "person to person" to just "other SIP phones".

1. Microsip can work with and without server. In most cases users uses SIP server - it's comfortably.
2. It works with any provider. Just enter account settings.
3. Program uses SSL (TLS, SRTP).
In account settings "Transport" TLS mean secure connection with server.
"Media encryption" - mean secure voice transfer between SIP phones.
