MP3 Cutter and Editor Portable

#1 Post by webfork »

From the people that brought us FadeTop/TimeClue and Text Filter.

This program has a little smoother interface and more features (volume change, stereo and mono swap, fade in) than other similar programs including our own MP3 Direct Cut or Audiobook Cutter.

With my admittedly bad testing setup it looks portable. Doesn't seem to save any settings anywhere and I couldn't see any registry entries.

Edit: forgot the website link, which Joby already added. However, Baas mentioned some issue with the main site so it can also be downloaded from Softpedia.

Sweet! Love direct MP3 editing tools! Will give this a test drive and report back.

[EDIT]
Just gave it a test. It's a very simplistic version of MP3DirectCut, which can be a good thing as the GUI for MP3DirectCut can be a bit confusing at first. I should also note that MP3DirectCut can do fades as well.
is it stealth? ;)

MP3 Cutter and Editor

#6 Post by USBman »

There seems to be another update for MP3 Cutter and Editor.

While the site suggests that it's still at version 2.5, there seem to be numerous mini-updates: the latest is version 2.5.0.441. I'm not sure what the changes are, as I can't seem to find a detailed changelog.

Anyhow, check it out - I think it's worth noting: http://www.musetips.com/free-mp3-cutter-and-editor.html

(I found this via MajorGeeks, here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download7008.html )

User lautrepay pointed out that the ZIP verison is no longer available. It looks like they're trying to do the adware thing based on NickR's comments so its not likely this is a temporary change.

Does anyone have a copy of the old portable version?

Edit: Rather tepid review of the software over at softpedia:

NickR was kind enough to contribute a download:

Can someone who also has the zip file verify the MD5?

Thanks NickR.
