Optical disc images are files storing complete copies of various media, including CD, DVD and Blu-Ray discs. They are used for backing up data from optical discs and creating exact disc copies for further replication. The main advantage of disc images is that they are essentially exact sector-by-sector copies of original discs preserving both their content and structure. If you have a disc image in any format, you can easily recreate the original disc by burning the image to a blank CD, DVD or BD disc. And although this task may initially seem to be somewhat hard, proper software will make it a breeze – software like ISO Workshop!

Quote:
Extract files and folders from disc image
Copy disc to disc image (including Audio CD)
Convert disc image to ISO or BIN format
Burn ISO or CUE/BIN image to disc
Supports common formats (ISO, CUE, BIN, NRG, MDF, CDI etc.)
Supports CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD+R DL, BD-R/RE
Supports verification of written files
Free for personal and commercial use

In the 'Help' drop-down of version 1.1 there's and option 'Check for Update...'

Version 1.2 > "Added option to check for update on start up"

I believe it is this option that creates a file in \AppData\

I have reverted back to 1.1 so I can't remember exactly.

The app (version 1.3) creates an ini file in the \AppData\ folder (not in an isoworkshop subfolder) with the following content:

[General]
Update=0 (or Update=1 if the update option is chosen)

The version 1.1 did not have this. It only had an on demand update check and no ini.

yea.. ashame..
also adds

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Tracing\ISOWorkshop_RASAPI32
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Tracing\ISOWorkshop_RASMANCS

but im not sure if that's from "normal" usage ..

v2.1 is available. No change in portability.

I've contacted the author requesting using the ini file next to the main exe (if exists). Hoping the best.

Softpedia is listing it as adware: http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Too ... shop.shtml

Quote:
Users are advised to pay attention while installing this ad-supported application:

· Offers to change the homepage for web browsers installed in the system
· Offers to change the default search engine for web browsers installed in the system
· Offers to download or install software or components (Ask toolbar) that the program does not require to fully function

Is that accurate?
