Easy Message Express V2.3 - Browser redirects to Ad page

#1 Post by puckchaser »

Anyone ever try Easy Message Express V2.3?

My work is cracking down on yahoo IM, so I thought I would try a portable alternative. Found this one, and it looks good, but every time I start it, it opens a browser and goes to an web page advertising a mortgage refi company.

So much for freeware.... Shouldn't this be ADWARE?

Any have a good portable Yahoo IM alternative?

later.

JAM is a YAHOO client that works pretty well.

Thanks for the info.

I had tried JAM, and the interface wasnt for me. Yahelite is OK, but it seems to periodically log me out. GAIM would do the same.

So I found Miranda IM.

I like the interface and it appears to be stable.

It's available on PortableFreeware too.

Thanks again.

I used to use Trillian but it has become a mess; it's so bloated now with some very obscure and unecessary features that seem to slow my computer down to a snail's pace.

I turned to Miranda as a lightweight and portable alternative. So far it works really well for me. I had a little trouble connecting with Yahoo but I just unchecked a couple of options and it worked. It's a nice little program and I don't need dual pentium-10 processors with a bazillion terabytes of RAM to run it.
