TPFC down since last evening

#1 Post by Andrew Lee »

I apologise for the downtime since last evening. The web server (nginx) crashed, and I was not around to bring it up and perform a proper analysis until this morning.

Well, what happened was a misconfigured log rotation module that failed to perform log rotation for certain processes, leading to a disk-full situation. Well, I have learnt my lesson and added disk space monitoring as part of the server maintenance routine. Boy, I still have lots to learn. :D

I am passing free virtual beer around for all who couldn't log into TPFC during the down time. Cheers!

I always access this site and I very sad that I can't access it yesterday.

Thank you TPFC!

Maybe it was said to soon! :) It was a little strange in that it didn't work (connection error,) then it showed "website can't be accessed" and then back to connection error again. I thought maybe you had finally decided to shut down TPFC?! :(

Andrew explains in the first post, a loose log file filled up the disk.

Hydaral, I am Baas was referring to the major outage yesterday which Andrew responded to in a new topic. I am Baas wrote here because users don't have rights to create new topics in the news section & it doesn't fit anywhere else but here.
