i.FTP v2.21

#1 Post by webfork »

Testing shows its still portable.

I'm mostly posting an update because the program is a bit simpler and easier to use than the otherwise very mature Filezilla. Also, it features a few features similar to a download manager (web and scheduled http downloads) that Filezilla doesn't have.

Running Appcompactor on the directory will save 1.2 megs.

I ran into some problems using iFTP awhile ago, but I liked the app for its size.

Maybe it's time to give it another try.
I hate the fact that FileZilla stores your FTP passwords in plain text!
is it stealth? ;)

Whoa -- I just verified that. Not good.

Edit: I just checked and found WinSCP does NOT store in plain text, although I was still able to reveal it by just running the program and hovering X-Pass http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=309 over the password field, so I'm not sure how much secure that is over Filezilla.

That's the job of X-Pass though ;)

If someone were to find your USB drive and stumbled upon your FileZilla directory, they could have access to those sites!
Not good at all.

WinSCP is good, but the interface needs some work.
is it stealth? ;)

Somehow Firefox defeats it, so I know its not just a flaw in Windows.
