Convert .WMV & .ASF video files to .AVI video files
The slow way.
Step 1: Find out framerate
Play .WMV video file with (Media Player Classic) or (mplayer2.exe) [C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe]
File > Properties > Details
If it's around 23-24fps the source has a framerate of 23.976fps. If it's just less than 30fps it's framerate is 29.97fps and if it's around 25fps it's actually 25.00fps. Write down the framerate on paper.
2; Setting
Audio (Encoder "No Audio"),
Video (Codec: - “XviD” or “H.264”), Rate Mode - (Quality-based), Quality (about 85 for “XviD”) or (adout 55 for “H.264”)
(Format: - “AVI”) N.B. “H.264” is slow
Muxer (Multiplexer: - “None”)
Picture (Frame Rate: - What you wrote down on the paper)
(If U don't Know 23.976fps & 29.97fps best for DVD, & 30.00fps for PC. But it's best to stick with you wrote down)
3; Hit “start” & you should get a .AVI Video file....with no audio.
4;Get Audio
Setting______
Audio (Encoder Lame). mp3, CBR 128 Kbps [or 160 or 192 or 224 Kbps])
Video (Format: - “Bypass”) [that means NO VIDEO]
Muxer (Multiplexer: - “None”)
5; Hit “start” & you should get a mp3 file.
6; Use "AVI-Mux_GUI" to mux the 2 files into 1.
------------------
The fast Way. (Does Not work with .rmvb files) ........without re-encoding the video!!!!!!!
Setting
Audio (Encoder "No Audio"),....No Audio!!!
Video (Codec: - “Stream Copy”), (Format: - “AVI”)
Muxer (Multiplexer: - “None”)
Picture (Frame Rate: - What you wrote down on the paper)
Hit “start” & you should get a .AVI Video file.....with no audio.
If it plays OK for the frist 15 seconds good for you.
