Mozilla Firefox Portable Updates

#1 Post by dasfx »

http://portableapps.com/news/2006-07-27 ... 5_released

Looks like some changes made to the launcher as well as the version and rename. Also there is a portable version of Firefox 2 beta 1.

Thanks for posting this update to the forum.

But for beta versions in the database, please look at this thread.

Firefox at 1.5.0.8

Firefox at 1.5.0.8, which you can update from within program too.

Wonder how long the 1.5 series will be supported, especially with its suitability for portable media.

FirefoxPortable 2.0 Release Candidate 3 is essentially the final version of 2.0, but the developer (John Haller) can't release it as such until he has worked out the final license details and required readme files with the Mozilla Foundation.

I have been using this portable version of Firefox 2.0 for several weeks, and it is a noticeable improvement over the previous series in terms of speed. Amost all the extensions have now been updated to work with 2.0, so that has not been a problem.

If you're interested you can find FirefoxPortable 2.0 RC3 at http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/f ... table/test .

Concern over Session saving keeping many at the 1.5 series

#6 Post by stacoma »

Concern over Session saving keeping many at the 1.5 series. I like 2.0 for the desktop and notebook, but want to see a way to shut off the Session saving and Undo closed tabs functions before I ever use 2.0 on the USB drive. Functions that I do like when not on portable drives.

the application is already in the Database:
http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=132

I would guess that certain other "stange" links are not "serious".

Please, do not post anything which is not licensed (like: Freeware, Open Source, GPL, and other internationally recognised standards)

if you want firefox portable without splash screen then just go to sourceforge
and download the last firefox portable pre-release (beta or RC) and update it
automatic to the last version (2.0.0.1)

last time i checked it was on one of the beta versions and there was
no splash screen at all even after update!!!

but don't count on me, maybe they changed those test versions and you
cannot update them (but still check it anyway)

go to: https://sourceforge.net/projects/portablefirefox/

download page "all": https://sourceforge.net/project/showfil ... _id=152554

go to: "Firefox Portable Test" or "Pre-Releases"

download page "Firefox Portable Test": https://sourceforge.net/project/showfil ... _id=168950

(...) <-- AlephX - Food Not Bombs --> this is the best i came out with at this short time!!!

Dude,
really, i mean, theres low and then theres stunts like this, >.<
its a virus, plain and simple,
and theres SO many inconsistencies, listing them would help you more then anything, so, yeah, no comment, :P

and you have 3-4 virus scanners saying "Its a Virus!"
so we're faking results and just trying to do it to insult you?
phhht, your doing a fine job on your own there, ;)

i could say alot here, but, well, eh, not touching it, :P

Couldn't one of the mods delete the URL? Would be a shame if some naive newby catches a virus this way.

Everybody else knows well where to get FF portable. No need to have a link to a virus posted in this fine forum.
