I am happy to report that all of John Haller's PortableApps run great under WINE :-D (though most have a Linux build anyway).

Ubuntu is really great. I've tried many other distros, and Ubuntu is the best far and away. If you install WINE, there is not many things that it can't do.

It's even better if you get the newest Wine from the Wine apt repositories. They're up to 0.9.8 now!

Cross Over office is basically just a GUI for wine not an office suite. and yeah I know ubuntu is great. I made my own ubuntu based system called Ubuntu Multimedia Center. if you guys are interested http://ubuntummc.com. the download link is being updated so don't go to it yet. I have a forum that desperately needs users on it.
