DirHTML (filesystem list utility)

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

I have moved this topic to the "Portable Freeware Update" forum because dirhtml already exists in the database.

I have updated the database entry with the new version and size.

To make a long story short, vector.reserve makes column sorting something like a zillion times faster.

dirhtml v4.78

#6 Post by flector »

It's essentially a maintenance release.

New feature: file table headers can be repeated after folder anchors.

FYI, dirhtml v4.80 has just been updated (1/24/07). Please update to the newer version.

The version released yesterday didn't write two settings to .ini files under certain conditions, notably when new batch files are created. Functionality was otherwise unaffected.

Running Dirhtml from a Batch file

#12 Post by max_smacks »

When I create a batch file using the program it writes the batch file and an *.ini file. However, when I try and run the batch file, the program crashes - it writes the frame page, but not the left and write pages...

Here is the contents of the batch file:
"D:\Program Files\dirhtml\dirhtml.exe" "D:\Program Files\dirhtml\frenchbat.ini"

Here is the contents of the frenchbat.ini file:

Re: batch file crash

That bug was fixed on 2/9/07. It only affected building framed sites using batch files.

DirHTM on Slax KillBill

#15 Post by teobromina »

DirHTM:

http://home.pacbell.net/nitzsche/dirhtml/dirhtml.html

is running on Slax KillBill 5.1.8, enabled with Wine.

OK, I am lucky today! I see that I can use most of my favorite portable apps compiled for Windows, inside Slax, which is a portable (live) Linux...

I made some trials with Puppy instaling before a Wine.PUP unnoficial extension. The reason for using Slax instead of Puppy for my reports is because with the KillBill edition you have nothing to install. Everything is already prepared and you have only to test a Windows executable as when running Windows, by clicking on the EXE. Thats all! I think this is good for those that want to move to Linux but are thinking that they will lost much of their prefferred apps and its way to use the computer.

With Slax I do not care about to adapt my keyboard neither, because I am using at boot time the Spanish.MO that is integrating itself in the filesystem and adapts my computer to Spanish.

My way to use Slax is to boot the computer with a boot.iso (in the page of Slax downloads there is a booting ISO) http://www.slax.org/download.php (See Slax boot CD), with my pendrive plugged in. In the pendrive there is the folder "base" and the folder "modules" and the file "livecd.sgn" copied all from the KillBill edition ISO, downloaded in the same page. 8)
