Device ejection no longer required in Win10

#1 Post by webfork »

For Windows 10, version 1809 and later, remote storage media such as flash drives and otherwise will now default to quick removal. This is important for portable users as you might:
  1. Enjoy no longer having to eject drives, which means this is a good change (convenience)
  2. Want the maximum performance from your removable devices, which means you should restore the old behavior (described here on a per-device basis)
To do this same process in reverse (enabling quick removal) see this process for Windows 7 and 8, which also carries a bit more background on the topic.

I couldn't figure out how to do this system-wide for all devices you attach.
