A few posts are required to disentangle the mess that MMD2PDF topic has grown into over time. This is the one devoted to wkhtmltopdf (https://wkhtmltopdf.org/).

author of https://wkhtmltopdf.org/ wrote:wkhtmltopdf and wkhtmltoimage are open source (LGPLv3) command line tools to render HTML into PDF and various image formats using the Qt WebKit rendering engine.

Although there are no recent releases, wkhtmltopdf has a new developer and website, so new releases are expectable in the near future.

Download the latest wkhtml2pdf release (currently v0.12.4, dated 2016-11-22) from https://github.com/wkhtmltopdf/wkhtmltopdf/releases/.
