Windows XP updates (resurrected?)

And so it can be said that I'm beating a dead horse, here's a thorough breakdown of options available...

Quick update: those weary of touching the Windows system registry to perform the hack referred above, can now use pXc's DotNET v.3.5 XP Update Extender...

About XP Update Extender, if you're running Windows XP, is it likely that you're running the bloated .NET 3.5 framework? :)

Might as well manually do the registry hack.
is it stealth? ;)

Because it isn't included in SP3, this maverick update might prove to be essential:
Windows XP Pro x64 is a different beast altogether but, just in case, there are two fairly recent updates lists:
