YACReader is a cross-platform comic reader developed using Qt4 with support for multiple comic files and image formats. YACReader comes with YACReaderLibrary, an application for browsing your comic collections with three different animated transition effects.

Download installer @ http://yacreader.googlecode.com/files/Y ... 0win32.exe and uniextract. The application files are in the {app} folder.

Dependencies: msvcr90.dll
Settings: Application folder

Writes the usual Trolltech junk to the registry.

Few program notes:

Great

• A near perfect 2-up page view
• A good PDF viewer all on it's own
• Very slick, graphical bookmarks
• Includes image options like brightness, contrast, and gamma
• Various different very slick "page flow" views that use the graphics card to make it really sharp

Other

• Includes a libraries tool for managing your various collections (I didn't test this)
• Can export the current page (jpeg only)
• Included translator (in beta)
• Opens CBR, CBZ, RAR, ZIP, TAR, PDF, 7Z, CB7, ARJ, and CBT. Doesn't open standard images

Issues

• Excellent "flow" preview function that seemed to break when I tried to resize it

Wishlist

• Ability to view directories that just have a lot of images rather than making me zip them before I can view
• Ability to view other ebooks (I realize this might be feature creep)

That is confirmed at the new official download page -- where a note tells us:

YACReader 8.x is by now incompatible with the stand alone mode, it will be ready as soon as possible.

BTW, the latest YACReader installable version is currently v8.0.0. It should also be added as a prominent feature of YACReader the fact that it is multi-platform, as versions exist not only for Windows, but also for MacOS/iOS and Linux...

Quick note to point that YACReader is apparently able to change contrast and other visual parameters for PDF files.

BTW, YACReader v8.5 released (2016-03-28) -- no changelog and still not natively portable.

Update here ... this program is still in development with a release last year ...

New server 2.0 (it needs YACReader for iOS 3.0 to take advance of the new features)
New current/next comic view in the grid view, available for folders and reading lists.
Comic in `Reading` are now sorted by last time opened.

Retested the latest release v9.8.2. Ran an install, copy, uninstall process -- not portable, still writes to AppData.
