Interesting interface though I find it hard to point exactly the pixel I need. Jumping of the mouse is also kind of irritating. CMYK support is a plus.
Personally I have my PrintScreen button mapped to Irfanview (i_view32.exe /capture=0) and shift+clicking in Irfanview copies the hex code to the clipboard (pixel color under cursor is displayed in the title of Irfanview on click). I found this solution to be the fastest way of getting a screen color.
Thanks, that's another good candidate but I stick with Irfanview as I often do other tasks (cropping, copying areas of the screenshot, etc). My stripped down Irfanview is only 2.6 megs which is exactly the same size as ColorCap. Irfanview shows only rgb and html color codes but that's quite enough for me currently.
PointandSee Color Picker is at V1.4.1 (26/08/2011):
New: Slider added to allow custom magnification levels.
Colours can now be saved to the color swatch panel with a double left click, no need to use the options menu. Visual confirmation added when color saved.
Bugs: Windows 7 error when restoring to full size from minimised state fixed.
Cursor now ´sticks´ to it´s last position, so no more jumping about when moving between operations. Resume color selection from the point you left off!
