streamWriter - Internet radio player/recorder

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

BTW: It's not in the DB, but has anyone ever tested its portability?

I did upon submission and can confirm that the latest build (170) is portable. Settings are saved to streamwriter_settings.ini

GPL'd

Found a brief, very positive review:
http://streamwriter.software.informer.com/

The audio cutting feature mentioned sounds really cool. So many internet radio stations have lame intros and outros that you really don't want or need.

I can't test this as every connection I seem to get on lately has bloody terrible network latency, but this sounds like a good addition to the DB.

v3.0.0.1 is available, I have not yet tested if it's still portable.

I've already said some nice things about this program in the entry but also wanted to point out that this is a great tool to quickly and easily fill up a music device with new tunes. Note that the program assumes that you want to record files, where sometimes you just want to listen (for example, if you have little space on your drive or just poking around radio stations). You can modify this in the settings window under "Default action on doubleclick on stream". Otherwise, when adding streams from the Browser tab, you have to manually stop their recording.

I haven't tested the community for rating streams.
