7capture is a fast and easy high quality screen capture software for Windows 7, Vista and XP that allows the capture of windows' rounded corners and transparent backgrounds and export the capture as semi-transparent PNG, JPEG, GIF or BMP image.

So wait -- other capture programs (FSCap, PicPick) here on the site don't see transparency? I haven't tested that yet mostly because so far the overuse of transparency in Vista/7 is just sort of distraction so I turn it off. But I want it to be able to if it comes up.

Hi.

It seems there is a problem while taking screenshots of windows that have a non-resizeable border.

Here are 2 examples of screenshots taken (and directly saved) with it:

It works fine for "classic" (resizeable) windows.

I'd suggest you to fill a bug report on their contact page:
http://www.7capture.com/contact

@webfork: the only screen-cap software that I found working correctly with transparency and rounded corners on my win7x64 is WinSnap. Absolutely no contest here!

I've done it before posting there.

I've just give it a try, and you're right : it works correctly.
The only problem with it is that it isn't a free utility, and the "30 day trial period" give you screenshots with a big watermark.

Yeah, but it's only 25 euros for a lifetime license, and if you really need it, it's not expensive at all!
I know it is on my list of must-buy licenses! :)

The next best freeware/portable app is ScreenshotCaptor. Many options to choose from (transparency, round corners etc.).
