Dragon browser

"Fast and versatile Internet Browser based on Chromium, infused with Comodo's unparalleled level of Security

Features
    Improved Privacy over Chromium
    Easy SSL Certificate Identification
    Fast Website Access
Greater Stability and Less Memory Bloat
Incognito Mode Stops Cookies, Improves Privacy
Very easy to switch from your Browser to the Dragon

Why is a Browser that provides greater security and privacy necessary?
Simple. The Internet has grown up. Malware plagues the Internet. In 2009 alone, more than 25 million new strains of malware were created, causing a 400% jump in compromised Web sites worldwide. Venturing onto the Web today (in an age in which one continually reveals social security, bank account and credit card numbers as well as a plethora of other sensitive data) can be like walking down a hallway with portraits on the walls. Portraits with eyes that watch everything you do and people hidden behind them ready to take advantage, based on what you let them see! --- Never have you needed to protect your privacy more on the Web!
"

And yet, the installer tried to connect don't know where right after it finished deploying this "very secure" browser. I wonder what is it securing?

The description is very vague as well.
Comodo needs to add more details!

What specifically does it do differently with privacy?

"What's the difference between Google Chrome and Comodo Dragon?
The Dragon encompasses all of the best features of Chrome. It includes an important feature every user needs to use the Internet in total safety today. – Strong security and privacy.

What makes Comodo Dragon better?
Chromium technology was engineered to offer Web users an Internet Browser that surpassed Firefox, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer. Especially when it comes to functional speed, stability and convenience. Comodo Dragon includes stronger security features.

What makes Comodo Dragon THE Browser for the new decade?
The Comodo companies are innovative and prolific developers of online security and trust assurance solutions. The Comodo Dragon has taken the latest Chromium technology and beefed it up in the one way necessary to make it the optimum Browser to use on today's malware plagued Internet. – Superior Security and Privacy. Comodo Dragon not only gives you the complete compliment of features offered by Chromium (key features listed above), it also gives you Comodo's unsurpassed security and privacy features.

Comodo Dragon Security:
Has privacy enhancements that surpass those in Chromium's technology
Has Domain Validation technology that identifies and segregates superior SSL certificates from inferior ones
Stops cookies and other Web spies
Prevents all Browser download tracking to ensure your privacy"

I just wasn't happy with the fact that it tried to phone somewhere right after installation! What is that about? They talk about the most secure browser, and it does this! It could've only tried to search for updates, I don't know, but isn't it nice to tell the user that before doing it? At least this is what I would've expected!
I'll try to install it another time 'cause I didn't catch that ip address.

I kinda like it.
Themes really seemed to slow it down tho,
but with the default theme its very quick :)

Here is a basic launcher I made with NSIS if anyone wants to try it out:
Comodo Dragon Browser (NSIS Launcher Only)
IncognitoMode Launcher

Edit: I say basic launcher because except mui referances this application doesnt seem to leave any registry traces.
The only registry entries handled by the launcher are for moz flash plugins if used.It just retrieves the appdata and clears the temp file left behind after shutdown.

It's a shame they don't have an official Portable build like SRWare Iron does. I will check out Napiophelios NSIS launcher.

It's probably all about checking updates (but not sure); nevertheless, I hate this behavior (phoning home without asking)!

It's possible to choose a portable mode during the installation of Comodo Dragon (be careful because the change of DNS servers is offered).
I couldn't uniextract the installer (my uniextract is up-to-date), so I had to run it (requires admin rights), but after that you've got a portable package that works on limited accounts if necessary. It's stealth for me, although some keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\Disallowed\Certificates were modified when I was using my admin account.

So, I think it's better to move this thread to the Submission forum.

I'm somewhat surprised this is Portable (I haven't tested!)

Download Dragon Browser

I think there is something wrong with the installer,it says is unpacking then just does nothing.
Maybe its something on my end,IDK.
I extracted it with 7zip and I must say it completely sucks.
You cant even access settings or anything,
Image
not to mention it has some default extensions to share pages on facebook..WTF?
I had high hopes for this browser when jt first mentioned it but I stopped using it when it started doing mandatory updates...now it seems even worse.
what are these aholes thinking.

If I remember correctly, to access the settings you must left-click Dragon's icon (in the upper left corner).

Lack of admin rights when running the installer?

Anyway, taking into account that it can be extracted (sometimes I forget to try with 7-Zip when Uniextract fails), I think is enough with a subfolder named User Data in the app folder to make it portable.
Let me know: are there any evident benefits in using Comodo DNS servers?
